Hometown Honeymoon

For many, the only place they can imagine themselves saying I do is in their hometown.  Surrounded by people they have known all their lives, this wedding is definitely about a love that lasts a lifetime.  And therefore, I think the hometown bride needs to be extra sweet.
For her dress, I started with a sweetheart neckline and a drop waist to give her shape.  But then add a touch of lace and a fishtail hem and I can just see this dress walking down the aisle in a barn or a vintage dance hall.
Other must have elements are a beautiful and dramatic veil, most likely passed down for generations that makes a grand entrance.  This is the bride that can wear her hair down and full of soft curls.  It will work perfectly under the veil and the veil can be removed after the ceremony.
For a twist on the shoe, how about a bootie?  All done up in sparkles with a pattern that imitates the lace.  And finally this bride must have the sweetest little bouquet around full of home grown calla lilies, peonies and ranunculuses.
This bride is definitely ready for a hometown honeymoon!

Christmas Eve

As you are heading to a Christmas Eve service, don’t let the big night intimidate you.  You don’t have to have a special dress, just wear a dress that can be dressed up.
If you start with a simple shape, add on statement pieces like this necklace and the detailed shoes.
And don’t forget outerwear.  A must in your closet is a dressier coat.  Just find anything that you wouldn’t go skiing in…please!  Even a simple wool coat can look fancy.
