College Football

This weekend is the start of college football for many of the local teams.  And as the temperature soars, girls are wondering what to wear to the big game.

There are more stylish options to wear to a game than just a sweatshirt.  Allow yourself one piece of “gear” and pair it with other items out of your wardrobe that don’t include gym shorts.

Think pairing the masculine with the feminine.  Add in a comfy skirt or a bow on your shorts.  Dressing is a breeze in a collegiate dress!

Adding gladiators is an easy way of dressing the outfit up, like you too are going in to battle while still maintaining comfort for a day of walking and standing.

I hope if you get to go to a game, you stay cool!

Q&A- Family Pictures

Family Pictures

I received the following question-

I’m having family picture taken early this fall.  What do you recommend that we wear?  We have three children.

Thank you for your question!  I really enjoy family pictures that include the same color scheme.  Try searching for your closets for a color you all can wear.  Add in a neutral if you don’t all have the same color and use accessories to coordinate.  Try to find some prints and not just solids to add visual interest.  Think about texture too- things the camera will pick up on.

Also consider your backdrop.  Will you be at the lake?  Maybe white and khaki would be cool and beachy.  If in a wooded area where the trees have turned, maybe some reds or oranges would be pretty.  I like pairing new and different colors together, like I did here with the navy and bright green.  It is more of a preppy look.

I hope they turn out gorgeous!

Day Twenty-eight- The Final Outfit

We made it!  Twenty eight days of my style.  And I have to end it with a bad photo.  Shucks.
I truly have to say, although it was a challenge to use the same clothing over and over again, I never did get sick of my clothing choices. Hurray!  I have a newfound appreciation the rest of my wardrobe.  🙂
Let’s say goodbye to the 17 pieces I chose with this-

Shirt*- Mossimo
Cords*- St. John’s Bay
Sweater- DKNY
Necklace, Earrings, Bracelet- Premiere
Which look was your favorite?

Day Twenty-seven- Presenting at Church

I had a meeting to lead yesterday at church.  So I wanted to look appropriate for both the worship service and also presenting.
This is what I chose-

Sweater*-XXi sweater
Shirt- LOFT
Booties- Mossimo
Necklace & Earrings- Charming Charlie
I apologize for these after church photos!  The sunlight isn’t very kind!  Can you believe there is only one more day for the 28 days of  my style!

Day Twenty-six- Barn Sale

Any Saturday that I get to spend shopping is time well spent.  Especially when this girl hasn’t gotten out shopping lately.  Even better, I got to spend the day shopping with my sister.  It was glorious!
One of our stops today was at Little Prairie Girl, a barn converted into a store that was dreamt up by a friend of mine.  It has all kinds of what my kids would call “pretties” for the house.  If you like homemade, antique, vintage, refurbished, junktastic type of goods, you will love Little Prairie Girl.
Here’s what I wore-

Shirt- Route 66
Jeans- Gap
Sweater- I Love Ronson
Wedges*- Michael Kors
Earrings- ?

Day Twenty-five- Coffee Klatsch (Coffee Chat)

Oh I love Fridays.  Almost every Friday I get to have coffee with some ladies in my neighborhood.  I think it may be one of the things that happen each week that keeps me sane.  Call it coffee therapy.
Here’s what I wore-
Sweater- Ann Taylor
Shirt- Sonoma
Jeans*- Mossimo
Flats- Delicious
Belt- Target
Earrings & Bracelet- JCPenney

Day Twenty-four- When Skies Are Grey

I look about as radiant in this photo as the sun was today, underneath all the clouds and the rain and the wind.  Yuck.
On days like this there isn’t anything left to do but break out the anorak.

Jeans*- Old Navy
Scarf*- Capelli Infiniti
Anorak jacket- LOFT
Shoes- Jellipop
Expression on my face- totally my own disgust with the weather

Day Twenty-three- Hat Happy

Today’s outfit was courtesy of a bad hair day.  And I have so many cute hats that I love to wear but just forget about.  In the summer  I wear my fun sunhat.  In the winter, I’m almost always in a cozy little hat.  Why is it these sassy numbers get passed up?

Jeans- Old Navy
Flats*- Chinese Laundry
Necklace- Von Maur
Bracelet- Cookie Lee
Hat- souvenir from Paris (pin and ribbon, my own)

Day Twenty-two- Rock It In Red

I can’t say I was a big fan of this outfit.  Not only was it again unseasonably warm but my intentions today were to wear red.  The kids wore red today at school to show their support for drug-free lifestyles.  And I thought I’d hop on the bandwagon.
So here I am in my loosey goosey vest that isn’t very flattering and I look like I’m going to the 4th of July parade instead of it being the middle of October!

Tank- LOFT
Vest- LOFT
Jeans- Old Navy
Flats*- Chinese Laundry
Necklace- Lia Sophia

Ug.  We’ll try again tomorrow…
