Keep It Simple

Attention all brides that want a dress that does all the talking for you, here it is.  This dress is one you’d probably pass by on the hanger but… put it on and it’ll be a show stopper.  How do I know? Look at its gorgeous lines.  All those seams will flatter.  Look at that beautiful fabric.  I just want to touch it!  This dress is a killer.  And it is for the bride that wants something spectacular but simple.
Pair this alluring number with a fascinator.  It’ll be small, sleek but pack a punch.  All other accessories need to be minimal.  Let the dress be the show.  I can see this bride loving a simple solitaire and some quiet heels.
This look needs to be taken to a special place, like Carrie does in Sex in the City.  Maybe something meaningful to you, like her library.  Let the venue speak volumes for your romance.

You’re My Girl, Jen-nay

Today’s wedding theme is bohemian.  Think Jenny from Forrest Gump.  She wants to get married barefoot, at the family home with a select few family and friends there to witness the event.
What kind of dress does this occasion call for?  One with a homemade feel- lace and cap-sleeves with just a puddle train at your feet.  How about those barefoot sandals?  I think they’re adorable.  And for those of us with a touch of gypsy in them, they’ll make you feel like you on your wedding day.
For accessories?  A beautiful headpiece over a fine layer of tulle.  And don’t forget the garden flowers.  This little nosegay of peonies is casual but showy all at the same time.
Hopefully you are meeting someone just as sweet and devoted as Forrest down the aisle.  Tell me who doesn’t want to be “someone’s girl?”

European Vacation

Instead of thinking of the movie starring Chevy Chase, let’s dream about being in a romantic city soaking up some amazing architecture and sipping a glass of good wine at dinnertime.
If you are lucky enough to take a dream vacation to Europe, I’ll try not to be jealous and instead help you pack.  Be sure to include the following:  a scarf, it’ll add dimension to your outfits without adding bulk to your carry on; two pairs of walking shoes because you’ll be siteseeing everywhere; and something demure to wear for your evenings.  Regardless of what you wear, they will know you are American.  So show them how well an American woman can dress while vacationing!
