Inspired by Style Icon- Audrey Hepburn

I have had a WEEK.  Do you ever have one of those weeks that pretty much at every juncture the thing that you hope won’t happen does?  That was my week.  I’m just hoping that it stops with this week and doesn’t move on to the next.
The good thing is that I have good friends.  Friends that know the kind of person I am regardless of what is being said, or what sort of blunder I am in now, know that I have a good heart.
And even when friends fail me, I know I have a Savior who is always there for me.  Who never leaves me.
I found this photo by Audrey Hepburn to be a great end to my fashion icons week.  (You knew I couldn’t do this week without a little Audrey.) I could have gone another week, there are so many fashion greats!  But Audrey will always be my favorite.  Her style just can’t be topped.  And in this photo, she looks like she is trying to leave behind a week like mine too.

Here’s my take. I had to imagine the rest of the outfit. And it was far too warm for gloves. So I went a little sporty.

Turtleneck- New York & Co.
Jeans- Seven For All Mankind
Tennies- Coach

Inspired by Style Icon-Princess Diana

Although she looks kinda…peeved…in this photo, I think Princess Di is simply listening intently.  And looking stylish while doing so.  It is rare to see photos of her in such a casual outfit.  Which is why I chose the pictures I have- to demonstrate that casual doesn’t have to be sloppy.

Inspired By Style Icon- Brigitte Bardot

Oh this Brigitte Bardot inspired look came in really handy today when my hair wouldn’t cooperate. I didn’t have the courage to wear such a large head wrap so I just stuck with a wide headband.

Here’s my take on the fashion icon.  I put on as much eyeliner as daytime would allow.  I’m sure my kids thought I was prepping for a football game or something.

Inspired By Style Icons- Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis

The brisk weather is inspiring me to put on real outfits again.  How about a little inspiration from some sophisticated ladies as they went out and about?  Here’s a good Monday outfit-

A little Jackie O anyone?  I’ll take some!  I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a bad photo of her.  Here’s my version with a few disclaimers.
1)  It was getting late, so no sunglasses.  And I forgot my belt!
2)  No buildings in my background, maybe later this week.
3)  It was a bit warmer this afternoon than expected, so I went with something suitable.
Sweater- Express
Jeans- Mossimo
Shoes- Dillards
Necklaces- Lia Sophia & Von Maur
Watch-Hallmark, yup!
