End of Thrift Style August

And that’s a wrap.  Here are the looks I created based on the theme of the day for the month of August!  Which is your favorite?

Say It Ain’t So

I have a hard time saying the month September without some bitterness.  But it is here. And we said goodbye to summer with a little trip to the lake.

Here’s what I wore winding summer down-

This was my fabulous fringe outfit.  I wore this scarf only for the picture because it was gameday for my little footballer and I found a wonderful game day scarf at a local shop.

I decided to try something fun with my hair for gameday.  I’m enjoying the braid trends. Here’s the result-

Okay, so this picture isn’t that great.  But it was extremely windy and I wanted a fun snap by the lake.  My outfit is all white except my tank which was grey.

Put A Ring On It

I couldn’t think of a ring that I liked more than the ones that mean something special to me. So while I could have photographed a pretty cocktail ring or a bunch of fancy rings, I took some pictures of my wedding rings and my five year anniversary ring.

Here’s a little game for you?  Can you spot the real diamonds?

I’m sure you guessed that my engagement ring was diamond and you were right.  That whole set is.  But my other five year anniversary ring is actually a white sapphire.  And was not very expensive.  Does that make it less special?  No.  (But I can tell you which one would cause panic if I misplaced it!)

And then I threw in a little LOVE midi ring for fun.  I can’t even claim these are CZ.

Here is what I wore-

I thought my top with the little grommets connected with the ring theme.  🙂

Leather Love

Did you not get the memo that yesterday was the cobalt blue shirt and black pants uniform? It’s okay, I ran into several people, including the staff at the YMCA with the same thought.  It must have fit the weather- rainy and dreary.

I am not a huge fan of my accessories here.  They seem a little disjointed.  But whatevs. I have owned these shoes for at least ten years.  They are still holding up nicely.  And current.  Classics. And they are leather so they fit the theme.  My headband also is faux leather.  Here’s a close up.

Edgy Element

I can’t say that a pregnant lady generally feels very edgy.  But I did my best.  I threw in a little unexpectedness.

Here I am in a tshirt with a little bit of rocker edge to it because it is on the sheer side.  And I also added in my fun fedora to make this a little more rock and roll.

And that was not a bracelet, just a hair tie.  Just in case I overheated.  🙂

Simplify

What to wear in the blistering heat?  I say, a day dress.  It could not have been cooler or easier on a stifling humid day.

From Distressed to Dressed Up

I hope you had a great weekend.  Mine was different than planned.  We ended up having a weekend at home.  And here’s what I wore.  (Sorry these picts came across from Instagram kind blurry.)

It was HOT.  But I managed to keep the theme of mad for plaid.  Don’t feel too bad for me, my plaid shirt was silk, not flannel.  Shorts were necessary though!

Saturday I was out on the golf course and thankfully it wasn’t as hot.  No, I did not wear those shoes on the golf course.  But my idea of golfing is really more like wacking at a ball with a club. The Mr. really appreciates my golf game… 🙂

This is my distressed outfit-

Layer Up

Yesterday was a warm one to layer up but I managed to do it in a sleeveless cardigan and shorts.  This weekend sounds like a scorcher.  Stay cool!

Under $20

I’m so glad to move on from yesterday’s picture.  Not another fav of mine.

Today’s theme was under $20.  My outfit consists of borrowed pants, a $6 tank, discount cardi and clearance sandals.  And garage sale jewelry.  I’m not positive it is under $20 but it would be close.

I am the ultimate bargain hunter, so you can be sure that most of my clothing is really shoestring budget conscious.  There is an exception thrown in there every now and then…  🙂
